32 weeks - Frist Ear Infection :(

This was a busy week! And pretty eventful....

Braelyn started solids at daycare.  We bring in our own food for them to give her. On the first day her teachers ended up cutting up the pieces for her (they were a little nervous about giving it to her whole) but after we talked about it again and told them to just give her the pieces whole, they said that she is doing great with it. Some days she is more interested than others but she is now having lunch and snack with the other kids along with her 4 bottles.

Braelyn has gotten very good at "feeding" Gibson during dinner time.  She does pretty well not dropping her food on the ground when he is not around, but when Gibson hovers (which is most of the time) she drops him some snacks.  On Wednesday night she was dropping food, then looking over her highchair and watching Gibson eat it.  So we told her to keep her food on her tray and that we don't feed Gibson.  She proceeded to drop more food, so as I started to tell her no again, and she looked at me and started laughing!!!  Have a feeling we are going to be in big trouble during the toddler and teenage years!

Asleep on our run

Loves the swing!

Thursday at work was our Topping Out Party for the DIA Hotel. The airport put on a big event and the mayor was there and we all got to sign the beam before it was erected into place.

Swimming/Flying - doesn't get her very far but Braelyn sure tries!
Braelyn isn't crawling yet but she is reaching and rocking & rolling around everywhere these days. She will sit and reach for something and rock on her hands and butt but then lays down on her tummy and does this crazy army roll thing to get to what she wants. She reaches and stretches then rolls/throws herself to one side, and then reaches and stretches with the other arm and rolls the other direction. It works to move her where she want to go but she really puts way more effort into it than she needs to. I am worn out just watching her! :)

On Friday night we went over to Colie's house for dinner and to meet her new puppy Tux. He is such a sweetie! I forgot how sharp puppy's nails and teeth are though. Braelyn and Tux were able to meet each other from a far! :)

Tux is such a good boy!

Saturday we ran errands and did some shopping at the mall.  Braelyn was a saint and just chilled out in her stroller.  We were just about to sit down for dinner on Saturday evening when the tornado sirens went off (which is very weird to have a tornado warning in the foothills)!  After a few minutes when they didn't go off we all headed down to the basement.  It was a little interesting trying to keep a 7 month old entertained in an unfinished basement, but I brought down a blanket for her to sit on and a couple of toys.  Luckily, we were only stuck down there for about 40 mins and then the sirens stopped so we were able to head back upstairs.  Braelyn had a quick dinner and then it was time for bed.

Slept for 12.5 hours straight!!
When I was bringing her upstairs to get ready for bed she felt very warm.  We took her temp and it was over 101.  :(  She was acting fine except for the fever and her Dr's website said to wait 24 hours before coming in if they have no other symptoms, so we put her to bed and hoped the fever would break by morning.  Braelyn ended up sleeping for 12.5 hours on Saturday night!!  When she woke up her temp seemed to have gone down so we met our neighbors for breakfast.  But Braelyn wasn't acting herself and just wanted to be held the whole time.  She ended up falling asleep at breakfast and on the way home.  After she got up from her nap we took her temp again and it was back up to 102. Poor little girl!  She spent most of the afternoon sleeping and cuddling with us.  And she wasn't intersted in eating solids at dinner at all. She clearly wasn't feeling well!  By 8:00pm her fever still hadn't broke so we called the after hours number. The nurse said that since she had a fever for over 24 hours we should
And then fell asleep less than 2 hours later
on the way home from breakfast
probably been seen either that night or forsure the next morning if the fever didn't break.  I called the 2 children's urgent cares by our house and both had over an hour wait.  We decided it wasn't an emergency and didn't want Braelyn to have to sit in a waiting room full of sick kids for over an hour if she didn't have to. We gave her some Tylenol, put her to bed, and planned on going right away in the morning when they opened at 8:00am if she still had a fever.  I checked her temp right before we went to bed on Sunday night and it was down below 100, so we thought we were in the clear! Not so much....she ended up sleeping almost 12 hours again on Sunday night but woke up Monday with a fever.  So off to urgent care we went.  Luckily, it was us and one other family there so we didn't have to wait very long before we were seen.  Braelyn ended up with her first ear infection! (neither the Lindseth's or the Becker's have a good history of ear infections....unfortunately I think this will be the 1st of many)  Poor little sweets! She got some antibotics for 10 days...good old pink stuff, hasn't changed a bit in 30 years!  But she seemed to be feeling much better by Monday afternoon and was back to her normal self Monday night for dinner.  Wasn't how we had planned to spend Memorial Day weekend but glad that we were able to be home and just cuddle with her!

How Daddy and Braelyn spent Sunday afternoon
