MN Road Trip - Drive to MN

We decided to be brave and go on a road trip halfway across the country with a 10 month old and a dog for a week over Labor Day weekend! Call us crazy but I couldn't go a summer without getting a lake weekend in!
We packed up the car and were on the road by 3:00pm on Wednesday (8/27).  We split the drive up into (2) 6-7 hours days, stopping in Lincoln, which was perfect!  Braelyn was the perfect little traveler!  She slept, played with some toys, read her books, had a few snacks, took another nap, and then it was time for dinner.  After dinner she went back to sleep until we got to the hotel.

Packed and ready to go!
Hi Gibson!

Look what I got into when Mommy
and Daddy were getting ready
Braelyn though the suitcase was pretty cool. And super fun to take everything out of the suitcase and throw it on the floor!

This hotel stuff is pretty fun!
Breakfast in Bed!
We had breakfast at the hotel Thursday morning and were on the road by 9:00am.  Braelyn again had a perfect day traveling!  We didn't even need to get out the emergency toys or snacks!
Best car napper!

Happy Traveler!
We got to my parents' house a little before 4:00pm.  We were suppose to get together with Lisa and Emily but sadly it ended up not working out to see either of them.  So we dropped off Gibson and went to the Galleria for a bit and then headed over to the Mangold's.  It was great to catch up with Katherine and Justin and Braelyn got to played with Claire and Ellie.  Crazy that the last time I saw Ellie she was Braelyn's age now!  Wish we could get together with them more often!
Playtime with our new friend Claire

After our visit with the Mangolds we headed up to the cabin.  We didn't get up there until late but of course Mema & G-pa waited up for us.  They got in some hugs and kisses to Sweets and then we all headed to bed.
