How far along? 18 weeks
Baby is the size of a...Bell Pepper, Sweet Potato
Total weight gain/loss? 10 lbs
Symptoms? My sense of smell is crazy and I have had 2 crazy bizarre dreams.
Food cravings? I wouldn't call it a craving but enjoying sweets more than I ever did. Jason isn't helping though as he suggests going to get or brings home ice cream or cupcakes more often than he ever did. I really think he is having some pregnancy sympathy carvings/symptoms as well. He also has been overly tired lately!
Missing anything? Not really
Sleeping? Was a little restless beginning of this week due to worrying about not sleeping on my back. I started sleeping with a large king size pillow which helped quite a bit.
Started to show? The bump definitely has popped! If you know then you can forsure tell but otherwise I think I am still kinda in the "is she pregnant or just been eating too many cupcakes?" stage.
Maternity clothes? Some pants and most shirts still fit but the shirts are starting to ride up and maternity shirts seem look better than most non maternity. Going to have to go pick up a few more items this week and think I'll have to make the switch by the end of the week.
Feeling any movement? I don't think so. There have been a few time that might have been but still too slight to know forsure.
Emotions? Nothing too different
Best moment this week? Starting the baby registry - it definitely got real!
Working out? I went on a bike ride with Jason last night. I was not able to keep up with him like I use to but it was still fun! I also am still going to (and have been throughout the entire pregnancy) Boot Camp on Mondays, Pilates on Tuesdays, Zumba on Saturdays and taking Gibson for a walk at least 2-3 times a week. My doctor said I can keep it up as long as I feel good so I am planning on keeping it up as long as I can. I do get tired quicker and am not able to run as fast at boot camp but enjoying it.
This weekend was another busy but fun filled weekend! We started our baby registry on Saturday. We decided to register at Target and Babies R Us. What a eye opening experience! We got very lucky though, my friend Lisa just had a baby boy in December and when she was pregnant she polled 20 different Moms to get their opinions on everything that could be on a baby registry, from if it is really needed, to what one to get, to what works/doesn't work. She then complied everything into a crazy amazing spreadsheet! She was nice enough to pass that along to me and it is truly AMAZING and a lifesaver!! We were amazing at the number of options out there for everything! Who would have thought we would spend 20+ minutes looking and discussing what bottle to get?! The spreadsheet and comments from the Moms helped so much and at least pointed us into some sort of direction. But even with the spreadsheet it was still a very daunting task! From the amount of stuff you need, to the number of choices out there, to the cost of everything...and of course we want what is best for Baby B! The items that we thought would be easy (bottles, pacifiers, monitors, exersaucers, pack & play ect) proved to be the most difficult, SO many choices. We now have a whole new appreciation for what we once though was just simple bottles! The larger items that we thought would take time more time (car seat, stroller, etc.) we were able to make a decision much quicker. We aren't 100% sure what we want to do in the nursery yet, so we focused on registering for the other items and will have to go back and for the nursery items one we finalize our plan for the room. In the end we did make some good progress and I have been going online this week reviewing, updating, and adding to it. It definitely became more real after spending Saturday at Target and Babies R Us and Baby B will be taking over our house whether we like it or not with all of their stuff! :-)
After we finished up the baby registry we headed to Lazy Boy to look at some more furniture and fabric ideas for our family room. We thought we were moving in the right direction when we were in the store but when we brought the fabric home we weren't as excited about it. So back to the drawing board unfortunately. We would really like to get that project done so we can fully focus on Baby B. In time I'm sure.
Sunday we went to the IMAX and Science & Nature Museum with our friend Shannon and her 2 year old daughter, Sophia. It was fun to see how excited she would get and would just run from one thing to the next. Looking forward to taking Baby B there one day!
Sunday was also our niece Jillian's 1st birthday! Can't believe that she is one already! It doesn't seem that long ago we were getting the call that she was born. If I think a year went by fast with Jillian, I have a feeling it is really going to fly by with Baby B!
