Braelyn is ONE!!! Birthday Day of FUN!

Braelyn had such a Fun Birthday!  Mommy and Daddy went into work late so we could have a special birthday breakfast with the Birthday Girl.

Braelyn got to spend the morning with Mema and Gpa. They surprised her with her very own sandbox & toys! (same thing they gave ME on my 1st birthday!!)

I went to work for a couple of hours to unpack all of my stuff at the main office and get a few things done.  After lunch Mema, Gpa, and Braelyn came and picked me up and we all went to the zoo for her birthday afternoon activity.  Daddy met us there after his meeting.  We saved the monkeys and the carousel for Daddy!

This zoo trip was the first time that Braelyn was actually into the animals and would watch them, point at them excitedly. It was really neat to see.  Made the zoo trip even more fun! 

 The gorilla exhibit has a little step that the kids can stand on and get right up to the glass.  There was a gorilla sitting only a couple of feet from the glass.  Braelyn thought that was super cool!

Jason and I took Braelyn on 1st carousel ride. Braelyn got excited when we first out her on the tiger and seemed to like it when we first starting moving but after going about about 1-1/2 times she was done sitting by herself and was just grabbing for my neck.  We sat on the animals with her sitting on our lap, which worked for a few more times around but then all she wanted was for one of us to hold her.  Though when the ride stopped she had a huge smile on her face and looked like she enjoyed it again.  Wasn't a complete success but not a failure either.  I'll take it.

After the zoo since we were downtown we stopped at Little Man Ice Cream, I mean it was Braelyn's birthday and all. She of course loved her ice cream!

My car was still parked at the office so after ice cream Gpa drove us back to my office to get it.  Braelyn was not having it and so we decided to take her out of the car seat to give her a break and Mema and Braelyn would just ride with me home.  Braelyn was still fussing a little bit after we got out of the car.  A guy walked by, stopped, and asked me if my daughter liked baseball.  I said yeah. And he handed me a signed baseball and said "give this to her one day" and started walking away.  Mema and I started to look at it and he turned around about 5 feet away and said "His name is Troy" and kept walking.  We got to the car and googled Troy Tulowitzki (Shortstop for the Colorado Rockies) and were pretty sure that it was him!  How cool is that?!?!  When we got home Jason googled his autograph and the "Ts" match perfectly.  SO awesome that Braelyn got a signed baseball from Tulo on her 1st birthday!  What a special girl!

When we got home Braelyn showed us her cool her sandbox and then we had a salmon birthday dinner.  Braelyn inhaled it!!

After dinner we opened gifts from Mommy & Daddy. Braelyn did a great job opening her own gifts again. She got a few things from us but her "big" gift was her 1st baby doll - a cabbage patch of course!

Such a fun Birthday Celebration day!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRAELYN!!  Mommy and Daddy Love you SOOO Much! It has been the best year ever!  You are perfect in every way!  We can't wait to see what next year brings!



Unfortunately, Braelyn had a tough time going to bed.  Too much birthday fun the last few days and was clearly very over tired.  She cried and cried for almost 45 mins. No one could console her.  Finally she did calm down enough to nurse and then she was out and slept all night.
