Braelyn has been doing so well with solids. There isn't anything that she doesn't like as long as she is able to pick it up and feed herself. We decided to do more of the baby led weaning style than the purees but originally had planned on doing some purees as well. Well, Braelyn had a different idea. She is NOT a fan of being spoon fed. She will get her lips tight and not open her mouth. So by default we are doing all baby led weaning. It is really amazing how great she does with it! We just give her chucks of food in french fry like pieces and she goes to town. If a piece is too big in her mouth she just spits it out. It's so much fun to watch her eat and explore. She picks it up, looks at it, turns in around in her hands, and then puts it in her mouth. And by not doing purees it cuts out a step in preparing them and makes it much easier during meal time as well since we all actually eat at the same time. It is also a great distraction, so we can have a conversation at dinner too. So far we have tried:
Avocado, steamed broccoli, melon, cantaloupe, hard carrots (just to suck on), pineapple, and cucumber. Avocado is definitely her favorite (and the messiest) and then cucumber.

The aftermath! At least she is happy! |
Braelyn has decided this week that she isn't a fan of sleeping though the night anymore. :-/ She has been getting up around 2:00am to eat, which makes for a tired Mommy at work. Hoping this is just a very short phase!
We did her 6 month photos Saturday morning. We used the same photographer that did the maternity and newborn pictures. It was so much fun. She has such a happy fun personality and she did great! Towards the end was much harder to get a smile out of her but after smiling for an hour anyone would be over it. I can't wait to see how they turned out!!

| Yeah for Broccoli Night! |
Sunday was her first bath that she was sitting up and playing with her rubber ducky. She looked like such a big girl sitting up in the tub! The time is coming sooner than later that we will need to retire the infant tub...little sad that our baby girl is growing out of her baby things already. Though it does make giving a bath so much easier!
