We officially have a sitter!! Braelyn went from sitting up on her own for only a very short period of time to be able to sit, reach for items in front of her, and hold on to toys all while staying sitting in just a couple of days!! It was amazing how quickly she progressed! And she is so proud of herself too! Proud Mommy moment!
Braelyn has started sleeping on her side with her hands by her face this week - just like Mommy does. And has continued to be constantly going to bed at 8:00pm (we do need to go up a couple times between 8 and 9 to give her her nuk before she is sound asleep), getting up at 1:00ish, and then 5:30am. Though now that it has been going on for a couple of weeks and I'm getting use to it, I'm sure she will be changing here soon! ;-)
Jason's cousin, Abby, came to visit for her Spring Break. She got into town on Thursday night. Abby wanted to learn to ski (she had never tried before) and Friday was the Mortenson ski day at Loveland so it worked out perfectly! Abby took at lesson and I skied with Mortenson. It was a perfect day and was fun to get out on the hill again. And Abby did awesome! For never skiing before she was a natural and was riding the chairlift before lunch!
Saturday it was cold and flurries so we hung out at the house in the morning and went shopping in the afternoon.
Sunday the weather was beautiful. We went up to Boulder for breakfast at Snooze and walked around Pearl Street for a while, then we got at home Gibson and did a hike around Red Rocks. Abby had never had sushi so we stopped for a late afternoon snack. She was very brave to try it considering she isn't a fan of fish but surprised herself and actually like it!

On Sunday we tried to give Braelyn water a couple of times with a straw while we were out but she wasn't a fan at all. I think it might have been too cold. She just closed her lips tight and wouldn't open them. We also have been trying to see if she is interested in food. We will bring a spoon or a piece of food up to her mouth and see what she does...most of the time she pulls her head back. Clearly she is not interested in food yet. We decided to wait until 6 months before really trying so hopefully she will be more interested in the coming weeks. She has been sitting in her highchair when we have dinner and watching us eat so that should help get her more interested too.
Braelyn had a weight check this morning. She now weighs 13 lbs 5oz and 25.5." She is tracking slightly below 15% for weight at 50% for height. She has been kinda flat lining and then gains and then flat lining again for weight but since she continues to gain the Dr isn't concerned she isn't following the curve perfectly. We will check again at 6 months and see how it looks.
