Two Weeks Old - 2 week Dr Visit & Bath Time

Weight: 8 lbs-13 oz (6 oz over birth weight!!)
Eating: Still eating every 2 hours during the day, 3-3.5 hours at night, 6-10 mins a feeding, only eats on one side per feeding now, cluster feeds at night
Sleeping: mainly 3 hours at night (though do have some 2 hour stretches). At night, Braelyn wakes up, eats, Daddy changes her diaper, and is back to sleep normally in about 30 mins.
"Typical" Day: up at 8:00am for the day, awake for a couple hours in the morning (definitely a morning person), sleeps after each feeding in the late morning/early afternoon, cluster feeds in the evening, sleeps for a couple of hours, goes to bed around 11:00pm, up at 2:30am, up at 5:30am
Development: Getting more head control, eyes are starting to focus more

I absolutely love her sleeping smiles! They are so cute and melt my heart!  When Braelyn wakes up she does this adorable big stretch over her head, wrinkles her little forehead, and let out a little squeaks!  She had two major spit ups this week - one all over Mommy and one on Grandma.  I can't believe her little stomach can hold that much! She got a little diaper rash. Daddy put Desitin on her for the first time and I think got more on her legs than on her bottom.  It was quite humorous!

Grandma and Grandpa

We had another fun and busy week with Grandparents and lots of cuddle time!  We sure loved having Mema & Opa and Grandma & Grandpa in town.  We are going to miss our visitors!

Tuesday (10/22) was the last full day with Mema and Opa in town, so of course there was lots of cuddle time.  Opa snuck out and went golfing in the afternoon.

On Wednesday (10/23) Mema and Opa left around 10:15am.   It was the first time I was completely alone with Braelyn.  We didn't do much besides lots of cuddle time!

3 Generations!

Bye Opa & Mema!  I'm going to miss you!

Gibson is here to help!
Thursday (10/24) morning our doula Geneva came over for a visit.  It was great to see her.  She said that it looked like I was doing great and I needed to give myself more credit.  Braelyn and I spent the rest of the day eating, sleeping, and cuddling.  Jason picked his parents (Grandma and Grandpa) late afternoon.  They were so excited to finally meet Braelyn!  After some cuddle time, we went out to dinner at ModMarket and of course since Braelyn likes to cluster feed in the evenings she started to get fussy and hungry.  I took her out into the car and feed her. I was a little nervous about feeding her in the car for the first time but we did fine.  You hear so many horror stories about how things go that I continue to be surprised at how well each of our firsts are going.

Meeting Grandpa & Grandma

Friday (10/25) was Jason's Birthday!  Jason was able to take the day off.  We spent most of morning just hanging out at home and Grandma & Grandpa getting in some more cuddle time.  Then we went and walked around Tennyson and had a late lunch at Hops & Pie. We put Braelyn in the Boba carrier for the first time and she did great!  Just hung out and slept most of them time.  After lunch we walked around the Highlands and of course stopped at Happy Cakes for birthday cupcakes and a quick beer at Hogshead Brewery. Braelyn was a saint during her first afternoon outing!

Officially looking like a Mom!

 Loves to cuddle!

We had a fairly relaxing Saturday (10/26).  We went to Hobby Lobby to get Braelyn's letters for name above her crib and ran a few other errands.  Grandma, Grandpa, Jason, Braelyn, Gibson and I all went on a walk around the neighborhood in the afternoon.  It was another gorgeous day.

Like my new hat?

On Sunday (10/27) Scott, Ashley and Brody stopped by before we went to the pumpkin patch.  It is so amazing how much bigger Brody is than Braelyn even though he is only 2 months older!  They grow up too fast!

Today, Monday (10/28), Braelyn had her 2 week Dr. appointment. Grandma and Daddy came along as well.  She spit up and peed on the examination table! ha-ha!  She is up to 8 lbs-13 oz!  That is 7 oz over her birth weight!  The doctor was very excited to see Braelyn doing so well with her weight gain.  They typically want to see babies at least at their birth weight by the 2 week appointment so the fact that Braelyn was 7oz over was Great! She said that everything else looked great as well.  Braelyn does have clogged tear ducts which produces some gunk in her eye and also real tears (babies aren't suppose to produce real tears for a couple of months).  The real tears makes Braelyn's cries even more heartbreaking.  The doctor said that there wasn't really anything we should do about it and it should clear up on its own.
After the Dr. appointment we came back home and Grandma got some last minute cuddle time in before heading to the airport.
Tonight we had our first bath at home. Braelyn did really well and didn't cry at all.  Mommy and Daddy did pretty well too but it is definitely a two person job!  Braelyn also lost her umbilical cord today too.

Getting the chubby baby belly!
