One Week Old!

Braelyn is one week old! We are SO in love! She is the perfect little girl! We are loving parenthood and can't get enough cuddle time (though that may be because we have to fight off Mema and Opa for it - he-he).  I am constantly taking pictures.  Just when I think Braelyn has done the cutest thing ever, the next thing she does is even cuter! :)

Weight: 7 lbs-15.5oz (as of 10/18)
Eating: Picked up on the correct latch right away which made nursing easy, eats every 2 hours during the day, 3-3.5 hours at night, 15-20 mins a feeding (7-10 mins/side), cluster feeds at night
Sleeping: 3 hours at night  "Typically": goes to bed around 11:00pm, up around 2:30am, up around 5:30am, up at 8:00am for the day, awake for a couple hours in the morning (definitely a morning person), sleeps after each feeding in the late morning/early afternoon, cluster feeds in the evening, sleeps for a couple of hours, time for bed.
Development: Has a fairly strong neck already, working on waking up her digestive system - good burper and has loud farts

Opa, Mema, & Braelyn

We have spent most of our days eating, sleeping, and lots of cuddling!  Though we still managed to have a least one outing each days since we got home from the hospital.  Braelyn has been a busy girl in her 1st week!

On Friday (10/18) we had our 1st pediatrician visit.  Right before we left we had a small blow so we had to do a quick wardrobe change before leaving.  Dr. Nagel said that Braelyn looked perfect and wasn't concern about the jaundice.  She weighted 7 lbs -15.5oz.  Friday afternoon we went on our first family walk; me, Jason, Braelyn, Mema, and Opa.  I was a little slow moving but it felt great to get out in the fresh air.

On Saturday (10/19) morning we had our newborn pictures.  It took Braelyn a little while to get into a deep sleep but once she did, she did great!  She was so cute in all the headbands, hats, and cuddly poses.  While we were doing the pictures with Jason and I, she poop on me!  ha-ha!  We were there almost 4 hours.  It was a lot of fun!  I can't wait to see how they turned out!!

Sunday (10/20) we decided to venture out and go out to lunch at the Yard House.  Braelyn slept the whole time.  Glad the 'first outing' went well...check that off the list!

Today, Monday (10/21), Jason went back to work today.  We sure missed having him home all day with us!  Mema, Braelyn, and I went to Target and Motherhood Maternity.  Braelyn slept while we were at Target but ended up waking up and was hungry while we were at Motherhood Maternity.  I ended up nursing her in the large changing room.  Check 'first shopping trip' and 'nursing out of the house' off the list. And I survived it!  I might actually be figuring out this parenting thing! :)
