Trip to Iowa - Braelyn's 1st Wedding

Braelyn and I flew to Des Moines, Iowa on Friday evening for my cousin's wedding.  (for various reasons Jason stayed home)  I was a little worried flying by myself with Braelyn now that she is mobile and didn't have her own seat but she slept the Entire flight! She was smiling & charming everyone around us until take off and then as soon as the engine started up she was asleep. She makes traveling so easy!
Mema & Gpa picked us up at the airport and when we got to the hotel most of the family was still at the hotel bar. Even though it was 10:30pm (9:30pm to us) we of course had to go say hello. Braelyn showed off her drinking out of a straw skills and for being so late was in a good mood.  She was also much more willing to go to Mema & Gpa than she was the weekend before.
Yes! Mema & Gpa brought the mailbox!
My Favorite!
Saturday morning after breakfast Braelyn got to finally meet her 2nd cousin Sawyer (his fam all had the flu last time we were in Iowa) and go swimming.  Sawyer is exactly, to the day, 6 months older than Braelyn.  So fun to finally have them together!  They splashed around in the pool for about an hour and when they were good and wore out it was nap time.

After nap it was time for some lunch and to get ready for the wedding. The dress I orginally thought Braelyn would wear was too big so she wore the same dress she wore for Easter.  Our little peanut! Though I Love that dress so was very excited she got to wear it again!
All dressed up and ready to go to her 1st wedding
Braelyn and Sawyer thought that Carrie's flowers were pretty neat

We had to get to the church early for family pictures. After pictures Sawyer and Braelyn played in the family/cry room until it was time for the wedding.  Braelyn found a box of kleenex and thought it was the greatest thing! She didn't stop until she had all of the kleenex out of the box. Too funny!

The service was very nice and Anne looked great. Braelyn slept through the whole service which was perfect.  Once we got back to the hotel, Braelyn and I went up to the room to nurse and she took another short nap. We missed cocktail hour but came down right before everyone was moved into the ballroom for dinner.

Ready for dinner!

Cutting the cake
Braelyn was an eating machine at dinner. She ate all the black beans and veggies I brought, plus half a bowl of fruit, and almost the entire kids mac and cheese!  All the other kids were done eating and dancing and Braelyn was still happily eating! So glad she is a good eater but no idea where she puts it all!
1st Dance

Braelyn and I tried out the photo booth but Braelyn wasn't too into it!

Saturday after breakfast Braelyn and Sawyer had a playdate in our hotel room until it was time to go over to Anne's house for a family lunch and gift opening.

After lunch Braelyn got some playtime with Nana & Papa and of course had to take some pictures.

Great picture of all of them!

Playtime with Nana

My little cutie!
Nana & Papa really wanted a picture of them with Sawyer and Braelyn.  This was the best we could get. Gotta take what you can get with 2 under 1-1/2!

After the photo session with Nana & Papa, it was time to open gifts.  We knew the kiddos wouldn't make it through the gift opening so we left and met Carrie & Sawyer at a park and played until it was time for us to head to the airport.

"So Big"

All the playing at the park is hard work!
And Gpa is driving so better hold on tight! ;)
It was a very quick trip but we had a good time and had fun seeing everyone.  It was especially fun to finally get Braelyn and Sawyer together. Wish we could see them more often but looking forward to seeing them again in January.

Now it's time to get ready for Grandma & Grandpa Becker to come visit on Thursday. :)
Yes, we are crazy & crazy busy! Which is why I got so far behind on the blog! Still waiting for life to slow down now that we have a kiddo...
