18 weeks & 4 month Dr Visit

Braelyn had her 4 month Dr visit today. She did great!
          Weight: 12 lbs 9 oz (15%)
          Height: 24.5" (37.5%)
          Head circumference: 16.46" (81%)
We talked about her clogged tear ducts and decided to try a round of antibiotics to see if that helps.  The Dr said they won't do anything further until the babies are at least a year old and then we would have to go see a specialist.  We are really hoping it clears up on its own well before that! Her weight gain had dropped a little on the chart from last time but the Dr. agrees that she may just be finding her own curve and isn't too concerned about our little peanut but wants to see us again in a few weeks to check her weight again just to be sure. We talked a little about starting solids but after doing some reading Jason and I decided we want to wait until 6 months so we figured we would talk more about solids at the 6 month appt.  Braelyn was a superstar with the shots too!  She only let out one little cry right after she got them and then was fine. Even when we got home she was her typical smiley self.

Happy in her hearts for Valentine's Day
We hadn't been to Moms Group in a couple of weeks and the topic last Thursday was starting solids so I took the morning off and Braelyn and I went to group to learn about starting solids and do a weight check.  She only gained 3oz in two week which isn't the best but at least she gained.  We decided to up her bottles to 4oz instead of 3.5oz and see if that helps.  The starting solids class was very informative. I'm looking forward to starting solids with Braelyn but after reading up on it and talking in group we are going to wait until Braelyn is 6 months to start.  We did put together her highchair though so she could start sitting and watching us at dinner.

She looks so tiny in the highchair

Growing up too fast!

On Saturday we went over to Lindsey/Rob/Addy's house for "Boobs and Beer" (play date with babies and hubbies in tow). There were 5 families that came, which was a ton of fun. Everyone left by 7:15pm to get their kid to bed but since Braelyn doesn't really have a set bedtime and will sleep anywhere and same with Addy we ended up staying until 10:00pm.  It was great to catch up Lindsey and Rob and it's so fun to have friends that the hubbies and wives all get along with kids the same age.

Sunday night we had a Crazy wind storm. The wind started around 11:00pm and didn't end until 5:00am.  It was so strong that you could feel the floor and bed moving!  We checked everything around midnight and it all seemed secure but when I got up at 3:00am to feed Braelyn I looked out the window and saw our heavy iron rod patio furniture in a mangled messed!  Luckily the wind didn't blow it the other way or it would have gone into our french doors which would not have been good! Surprisingly when we untangled the patio furniture in the morning nothing was damaged and we didn't see any damage to the house.  But needless to say we didn't get much sleep Sunday night.  The news on Monday said the winds were over 75mph.  It was insane!

We have been noticing that some of her 3 month clothes are getting a little too short.  Since Mommy has a hard time just boxing them up without Braelyn wearing them just one more time I decided this next week would be the 'one more time week' for all the outfits are that getting too small and then after I wash them I'll box them up. I am excited for her to start wearing the new 6 month outfits but still kinda sad she is outgrowing her 3 month clothes.  Mommy just needs to accept that our little peanut is growing up!  :)  She is definitely in between sizes right now and most of the 6 months clothes are baggy right now, so it's a good thing she still has some 3 month clothes that fit so she won't have to be swimming in all of her clothes.
