8 weeks - SMILES!!

Weight: 10 lbs-10 oz (as of 12/5)
Eating: Eating every 2-2.5 hours during the day, 6 hours then 4 hours at night
Sleeping: Constantly 6 hours at night, 1 hour naps during the day
Typical Day: Up around 8:00am for the day, awake for about an hour, nap for an hour, awake for a couple hours, short nap, awake most of the afternoon, short nap early evening, goes to sleep around 8:00pm, we all go up to bed around 10:00pm, up around 4:00am, and then around 8:00am for the day.
Development: Smiles!! Continues to do really well with tummy time-Even without the bobby, can be very talkative, sleep in you crib for part of the night

* You love being on your back or sitting up looking around.  You are not a huge fan of laying on my shoulder unless you are really tired.
* You Smile!! It is the greatest thing ever! You normally will give 3 smiles in a row.  It is so cute! If only I could catch it on camera!
* You now are sleeping 6 hours consistently, doesn't matter what time you go to sleep, you will be up about 6 hours later and will then sleep another 4 before getting up for the day.
* You have been sleeping in your crib the second half of the night.  Mommy was a little worried the first night but it didn't even phase you. You slept great!

You gained 5 oz in the last week which on the low end of what they want to see and it is only 4.5 oz in the last 2 weeks. You have been sleeping longer at night, so that could have some effect on your weight gain as well.  They did say to continue to make sure you are eating at least every 2 hours during the day and continue to limit the use of the pacifier.  Mommy isn't too worry yet though. I think you are getting enough to eat...you are too happy of a baby to not be.

It was a VERY cold and snowy week this week!  Mema and G-pa were planning on coming back from Breckenridge on Tuesday afternoon but got stuck up in the mountains until Thursday due to the snow. While we would have loved some more playtime with them, we were glad they decided to be safe and stay until the snow stopped.

Look how high I can lift my head, even without the boppy!

Wednesday (12/4) was a big day for you.  First, you Smiled at me!! Yay!  It was the greatest, most exciting thing! I of course called Daddy right away to tell him.  You have such a cute smile.  And you did it a few more times throughout the day.  I loved it!

And she smiles!
Could only catch the end of a smile
Then Wednesday afternoon, Daddy watched you (since Mema and G-pa were still stuck in the mountains) while I went to get my hair cut.  He did pretty well all alone with you for a couple of hours. :)

When I got home from my haircut we decorated the Christmas tree.  You even helped by hanging your first ornament on the tree!

Sleeping so she will be ready to party once
Mema & G-pa finally get down the mountain!

When we go to Jason's parents for Christmas, Braelyn will be sleeping flat in a pack 'n play.  Since she is currently sleeping in the Rock & Play in our room, which is at an incline, we decided we needed to start making the move for her to sleep flat in her crib so the transition in Chicago would be smooth. We didn't want to mess up the consistent 6 hours stretch we were getting so we decided to start her out in our room and then after she gets up move her into her crib for the second half of the night.  Thursday night (12/5) was the first time we tried it.  She had no problem sleeping in her crib and continued to sleep 4 hours, like she had been doing.

She looks so small in her crib!
Morning Smiles!
Almost caught it!

Such a pretty little girl!
Braelyn loves her Daddy!

We have a video monitor and on Sunday morning after we moved Braelyn into her crib, Jason was looking at the monitor and all of a sudden was in a panic and said "I think she is on her side!" I looked and said that she had just turned her head to the side.  He didn't believed me so I went and check on her for him.  And what do you know, she was sleeping soundly had just turned her head to the side!  haha
Sleeping soundly in her crib

Sunday (12/8) we had brunch with the Patzs and heard about their trip to Florida for Thanksgiving.  Brody did great on the flight and they had some good advice for us. Hopefully, Braelyn will be as good as Brody was when we go Chicago.  After brunch we did some Christmas shopping and ran some errands before heading over to Colie's for dinner.  Braelyn was a great sport.

Looks like such a big girl in her hat and boots!
When we got home from Colie's, Mema and G-pa helped with bath time. Braelyn loves her bath time but I'm not sure who had more fun this time! Braelyn sleeps great after bath night and Mema & G-pa must have done a good job because she slept from from 9:30pm-5am!

Today Mema and G-pa had to head back to Minnesota.  We loved having them visit for the last 2 weeks and were very sad to say goodbye! We will miss all the cuddles and playtime!  After Mema & G-pa left we headed over to Steph and Sam's house for a fun play date.

Getting in some last minute cuddles with Mema

G-pa isn't going to leave
without getting his turn!

Wearing her real Uggs from Marianne and Jack!
