4 weeks old!

Can't believe Braelyn is almost a month old!  Where has the time gone?!?

Weight: 9 lbs-7 oz (as of 11/6) - gained one pounds since birth!
Length: 21.5" (as of 11/7 per Jason and my measurements) - up 1" from birth!
Eating: Eating every 2-2.5 hours during the day, 3-4 hours at night, 6-10 mins a feeding, only eats on one side per feeding, still cluster feeds at night but not as long
Sleeping: 3-4 hours at night - starting to go to bed earlier and sleeping longer
"Typical" Day: Up at 8:00am for the day, awake for a couple hours in the morning (definitely a morning person), sleeps after each feeding in the late morning/early afternoon, cluster feeds in the evening, sleeps for a couple of hours, goes to bed around 10:00-10:30pm, up at around 2:00am, up at around 5:00am
Development: Starting to focus and follow with her eyes, working on tummy time, has developed some baby acne and is starting to lose her hair on top of her head.

Mommy and Braelyn had another great week full of cuddle time, Moms group on Wednesday, lunch with Gina on Thursday, and a few afternoon walks with Gibson.  Braelyn typically is a very low key chill baby but she seems to be having a harder time passing gas this last week.  She has been getting very upset and makes lots of grunts and groans.  I read something that babies GI systems tends to "wake up" more around 4 weeks which can cause more discomfort for some babies. We are thinking that is the cause of Braelyn's increased fussiness.  On Tuesday night Braelyn went to bed at 10:00 (an hour earlier than typical), slept until 2:30pm, and then got up again at 5:30am.  Jason gets up at 5:00am for work so he was Very happy he only had to get up once that night!  She has been going to bed earlier now and tends to sleep longer this week than past weeks.
I am definitely loving being a Mom and all my time with my little girl.  I am not missing work in the slightest!  We are SO blessed to have such a perfect easy going angel!  I love her more everyday!

Wide awake today!

Walks are the perfect time to nap

On Friday (11/8) morning Braelyn followed me with her eyes when I walked past her when she was in the rock and play.  I walked past her again just to make sure I didn't make it up and she followed me again!  Friday was a Big outing day for us.  Braelyn came with me to my dentist appointment and didn't make a peep until the last 10 mins.  Then she wanted to eat and wanted to eat now!  After the dentist appointment we went to Daddy's office to show Braelyn off to his co-workers. Then Daddy, Mommy, and Braelyn went out to lunch.  It was a gorgeous day so we were able to eat outside. After lunch Jason had to go back to work but I was feeling adventurous and Braelyn was asleep so we made a quick trip to Target on our way home...first time alone! When we got home Braelyn had her first blow out.  Sadly I think we maybe are starting to grow out of the newborn diapers.

Lunch with Daddy!

First blow out

Saturday (11/9) morning I went to what I thought was a Breastfeeding for New and Working Moms group but it ended up being a Le Leche League meeting with 2 pregnant ladies who were overly concerned about breastfeeding, the leader who was breastfeeding her 3 year old, and another women who had a 3 year old & 18 month old and the 18 month old was still only nursing, no solids yet.  Unfortunately, there was no working Moms in the group and it was a little too much for me.  Going to just stick with my Moms Group and the hospital!  Saturday afternoon Leslie came over to meet Braelyn.  She got Braelyn two very adorable pink outfits.  Then we went out for the much anticipated sushi dinner!

Daddy cuddle time

Sunday (11/10) was another big busy day. We had bath time in the morning and afterwards we noticed that Braelyn is starting to lose quite a bit of her hair on the top of her head.  My friend Nick from college was in town visiting his cousins. We met them for coffee at Cherry Creek.  Nick told us the excited news that he is going to be moving to Denver in April!  It was great to see him but it was a quick visit so we could get back home because Dave and Rhonda were coming over to meet Braelyn.  She was a little fussy when they were over and ironically every time Rhonda was holding her, she started to fuss but when Dave would take her she would calm down.  Dave of course gave Rhonda quite a hard time about it!

Rhonda, Braelyn, & Dave

After Dave & Rhonda left, I made sure Braelyn was full of food and then we headed to the mall to do some returns and to start the search for the perfect Christmas dress for Braelyn.  Braelyn apparently was not a fan of shopping and if Jason wasn't with me, I would had headed home right away!  She started to get quite fussy at Baby Gap so Jason took her out of the car seat and it went down hill from there! By the time we were paying she was at a full volume screaming cry.  She would calm down for a few minutes and then get fussy again.  It was the first time she really got upset since she was born.  Jason said he was fine holding her and trying to calm her down so we just kept shopping, more quickly than not though.  He got some glares at Gymboree though! (which was surprising since we were in a kids store you would think those mothers would have sympathy, guess not!) Even though Braelyn wasn't a fan of shopping, we did end up finding her some cute dresses.  Hopefully, better luck next time.

Pretty in Pink

Since the weekend was so busy Today (11/11) we are having a low key lazy day at home full of cuddles and snuggles.
