Wednesday:
We left Denver at midnight on Wednesday morning, had about a 1 hour layover in New York and flew into Nantucket about 9:00am. Luckily we both were able to sleep on the plane. We we dropped our bags off at the hotel (weren't able to check-in until 3:00pm) and walked around the town and went down to the lighthouse. Nantucket is a gorgeous island with cobblestone roads, tons of hydrangeas, and everyone is very laid back and on vacation. It was much more humid than we are use to in Colorado but was fairly tolerable. We went back to the hotel around 3:00 for a much needed nap. After our nap we got ready and went out for an amazing dinner!!

Thursday:
Went out to breakfast at Black Eye Susan's (apparently THE place for breakfast on the island) and then got ready for our beach day. The hotel provided chairs and towels and were nice enough to give us an umbrella as well. We decided to walk to the beach (about 1 mile) instead of waiting for the bus. Jason was a trooper carrying both chairs and the bag...I helped by carrying the umbrella. The weather was perfect, the beach wasn't too crowded, and was very relaxing! We spent all day at the beach...we were one of the first ones there and one of the last to leave. The umbrella was key, would not have made it all day without it. We had a nice low-key dinner at one of the pubs near our hotel and then waited in a crazy long line for ice cream. It was THE place on the island for ice cream and the line and the price definitely reflected that!

Friday:
We packed up our bags and went out to breakfast. After breakfast we made our way down to the harbor. We went on a 1 hour sailboat ride around the harbor. It was fantastic! After the sailboat ride we walked around town until it was time to head back to the hotel to catch a taxi to the airport, to fly to Boston. We arrived in Boston at 4:00pm, took the subway to the hotel, dropped of the bags, and explored the town for a bit. It was HOT and humid in Boston! Nantucket was nothing compared to Boston. We ended up making our way down to the harbor and North End. We went back to the hotel, showered, changed, and then headed back to the North End for dinner. We had a great authentic Italian dinner and then stopped at little cafe for gelato, cannolis, and cappuccinos.

Went and had breakfast at a cafe that was recommend to us by a women we met in Nantucket. Then went back to the hotel and waited for Krista to get downtown. She was staying about 20 mins outside of Boston for work training for 8 weeks. Saturday was HOT HOT HOT! It was about 98 degrees and 85% humidity! And of course Saturday was our walk around outside all day and do the Freedom Trail day! The Freedom Trail was pretty cool but we all realized that we didn't remember much from our American History class in high-school and since it was SO hot we moved pretty quickly through it. After we hit up all the spots we wanted to on the Freedom Trail, we had lunch at the oldest pub in Boston, which was across the street from where they planned the Boston Tea Party. We then walked around Beacon Hill, checked out the Liberty Hotel (a jail that was turned into a hotel in the 90s) and went to the Cheers Bar. We then went back to the hotel for a much needed nap and relaxation. We got ready for dinner and headed back to the North End. We decided to go to THE restaurant for dinner...unfortunately it is quite small and they don't take reservations. So we ended up having to wait in line for almost 1-1/2 hrs!! Once we finally got a table, the food was amazing and worth the wait! After dinner we went to Mike's Pastry for some cannolis. The line at Mike's was crazy long too but the cannolis were well worth the wait! We had to laugh that the mafia is not dead...every place we went to in the North End took cash only! It was crazy! Krista spent the night with us so we could hang out on Sunday too!

Sunday:
Luckily Sunday was MUCH cooler that Saturday! We went out to breakfast in Beacon Hill. Then we walked through the Public Gardens and shopped along Copley Square & Newbury Street. After an afternoon refresher nap, we checked out Faneuil Hall and got some gelato in the North End since Krista had never had it before. We all went to dinner at an amazing pizza place before having to say goodbye to Krista. We had a great weekend exploring Boston with Krista and can't wait to visit her in Chicago after she moves there in August.

Monday:
We had breakfast at Dunkin Donuts (we of course couldn't leave Boston without going there) and took the subway to Sam Adam's brewery for a brewery tour. They do a nice job with the tour..would have been even better if I could drink! he-he We then went back to the hotel and changed for Afternoon Tea at the Langham Hotel. It was very good and a nice relaxing thing to do after all the walking we had done the last couple of days. Monday night we went to a Red Sox's game at Fenway Park. The stadium is really neat and they don't do any game show like games between innings or anything. Everyone is there to watch baseball. Such a cool experience!

Tuesday:
We got up, went to the airport, and headed back to Denver.
We had such an awesome trip! It was a great break from everything! And it was fun to hang out with Krista for a couple of days as well. Now its time to focus on getting the nursery put together and get everything else ready for Baby B's arrival! October will be here before we know it!!
