Development: Repeats sounds after us sometime, definitely has discovered her hands - they are in front of face/in mouth more often than not, started grabbing for things, doesn't get as upset when is done with tummy time, sits in bumbo for short periods of time, mesmerized by the TV.
We didn't do much last week if it didn't involve play time or cuddling. Plus with New Years being on a Wednesday it really broke the week up. Though that meant that the house is a mess and I got way behind on the blog but I didn't care. It was my last full week with my baby girl before having to go back to stupid work.
I definitely had my share of tears this week thinking about and preparing to go back to work. Where has the last 12 weeks gone?!? Before Braelyn I thought that it would be hard to go back but that I would be ready. I couldn't have been more wrong! I have had all the irrational thoughts all week...What if she doesn't remember me? What if they just let her cry all day? What if she hates it? How could we just leave her with complete strangers?! I know that they are ridiculous thoughts and that it is going to be really good for her to go to daycare and get the social interaction and get experiences she wouldn't be able to get if she stayed home with me, but I am really really going to miss her! It is going to be so hard to leave her! I'm so nervous and scared and worried! I'm sure it will all be ok but man this is the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I just love that little girl so much. It truely is a feeling that you can't explain or understand until you are living it. It's amazing how much has changed in the last 12 weeks and I wouldn't change a thing! Well except for having the 12 weeks go by slower!
Braelyn has been sleeping in her own crib the entire night since last Sunday (except for New Years she let Brody have her crib) and has been doing great! Her sleeping hasn't changed at all! Though Mommy isn't liking it as much because now I have to get up and go across the house to her room to feed her at 4:00am instead of just reaching down to get her. Oh well.
Braelyn has discovered and is mesmerized by the TV. She will crank her head to see the TV if laying on the play mat or blanket. The lights are just so interesting! :)

Braelyn rang in the New Year with us by staying up past midnight, so we decided New Years Day was a good day for a PJ day! :)

On New Years Day it was 45 degrees out so we took advanage of the nice weather and went on a family hike at Lair O' the Bear in the afternoon. We were planning on carrying Braelyn in the Boba but forgot her bear suit at home so decided to just push her in the stoller instead to ensure she would stay warm. Good thing we have an all-terrain stroller.
On Thursday (1/2) we went to Moms Group in the morning for a weigh in. Braelyn gained 10 oz in 2 weeks which is great. We talked to Katie, the group leader, about advice for going back to work. She was very helpful. After Group we went over to Steph and Sammy's house for a play date and Lindsey/Addy came too. It was fun to catch up with them and see how their Christmas and New Years were. All of our babies were of course spoiled over the Holidays!

Friday (1/3) Mommy and Braelyn had lots of play time together in the morning and we then went downtown for a late lunch date with Daddy. Braelyn has started to bat at things on the play mat. I am not sure if she is doing it intentionally or not yet, but she is definitely making contact.

Definitely has discovered her hands!

On Friday evening we went over to Colie's for dinner and to exchange Christmas gifts.
She gave Braelyn a giant monkey! She is doing her Auntly duties by buying Braelyn things that Mommy and Daddy won't! :) She got Jason and I dinner out with her babysitting services included!
(though she said may need some more practice time with Braelyn before we can leave them alone - especially after her scream session Friday night)
Braelyn did not nap much during the day on Friday and was apparently very tired and wanted us to know about it. While at Colie's she let out this very loud murderous screaming cry that we had never heard before. She was seriously mad and wanted the world to know! I fed her which calmed her down for a little bit, but then around 9:30pm she started up again and it was time to get her home! I have never heard her get so upset. She clearly was over tired b/c she feel asleep in the car on the way home and didn't wake up again until 7:30am on Saturday! Luckily, we haven't heard that cry again!
Saturday (1/4) we took down the Christmas decorations, ran a bunch of errands, and got Braelyn's stuff all ready for daycare on Monday so that Sunday we could just stay at home and do nothing but cuddle all day!
 |
| Can't get a much bigger smile than that! |
Sunday (1/5) morning we went to church and brunch and then went home for a Mommy & Braelyn cuddle day. Where has the last 12 week gone?!? I am sure going to miss my little girl! This going back to work thing is so much harder than I thought it would be!
