How far along? 9 weeks
Baby is the size of a...grape, green olive
Total weight gain/loss? 2 lbs
Symptoms? Nada.
What is making me queasy or sick? Nothing
Food cravings? None...really enjoying fruit though.
Missing anything? Not really
Sleeping? Same as always....except for the getting up in the middle of the night
Started to show? Nope
Emotions? Nothing different
Best moment this week? Telling Emily and Jeff when they came to visit last weekend!
Fears & excitements? Still the fear of getting too excited and then having a miscarriage. And it still doesn't feel real. Once I can actually talk about it things will be better I'm sure
To do List? Figure out which room will be the baby's room and start getting some ideas, get the way we are telling people completed, figure out which classes we want to attend
Got the results back from the blood tests, everything is normal except that I do not have the antibodies to protect me from the chicken pox. I was one of the test babies for the vaccine when they started the research. I did not get the chicken pox as a kid so it worked some but did not last through adulthood. Bad news is that I can not get the current vaccine until after I deliver so for the next 7 months I need to avoid anyone and everyone that has been exposed to chicken pox or shingles. Shouldn't be too big of an issue but just something else to worry about.
Emily and Jeff came to visit last Thursday - Monday. It was so much fun to have them here. We figured there was no way we were going to make it through the weekend without them suspecting something so even though it was still a little early to tell anyone we decided to tell them. When I was giving Emily a tour of the house we got to the extra empty bedroom and I said "this will be the baby's room in October!" It took her a second for it to process but she was very excited. It was fun to have someone to talk baby stuff with for the weekend and since Emily and Jeff are pregnant as well (due the end of June) we could share stories. Though come Monday all baby talk was put on mute again for the next 3-1/2 weeks.
Since the size of the baby is compared to a food we thought it would be fun to eat whatever food the baby is that week. So far jelly beans and grapes have been pretty easy. We will see what the baby is compared to when it gets bigger.
I am getting SO excited for Easter this year since that is when we are going to tell our families!
